Parallel to the Mosaïque project, our investigations for a single plot continued. The City of Wavre then found us a piece of land in the middle of the Quatre-Sapins neighborhood and ordered 750 vines to plant there. Everything therefore seemed settled. That was without taking into account the local residents, who mobilized against the project. They clearly did not see this vineyard as a way to bring life to their green space, but rather as an activity likely to deprive them of its use and disturb the peace of the neighborhood.

One petition later, the Quatre-Sapins vineyard was dead before it had been planted. April 2018, the 750 vines, however, had been ordered and were already on their way. 

It was then that Dominique and Henri Lebrun-Vanparijs, farmers on the Avenue de la Procession aux Reliques, offered us a solution as simple as it was providential: to move their cows a little and let us have a piece of their meadow.

The vines offered by the City to our small association were therefore ultimately planted at their place. The communal vineyard imagined at Quatre-Sapins became a collective plot installed on the land of two farmers who had decided to trust us.

This is how the La Procession plot was born, A story quite faithful to the project, after all: not really any means, many detours, a few closed doors, and, at the end of the road, vines that grow.
